The Doha International Airport is one of the airports in Qatar. The Doha International Airport is a Military and Public joint airport that serves the city of Doha. The DOH happens to be the main hub for the airlines company Qatar Airways. The Qatar flights contribute a significant number in the Middle East flights. The airport has a duty-free area where there is an Oryx Lounge for the Business-class and the first class passengers. The Doha International Airport happens to be the only airport in Qatar. There is a free Wi-Fi and a large area which is a duty-free area. There are also a few numbers of eateries in airport. The runway of the airport is as long as15,000 ft. and happens to be one of the longest runways in any civil airport.

The replacement is scheduled to be done in the year 2009 or in the early 2010. It is expected that the first phase of the New Doha International Airport will be opened by then which is one of the most awaited airports in Qatar. The Doha International Airport has been awarded a 3 star rating by the Skytrax. Since the year 1998, the total number of passengers that the airport handles as well as the total load of cargo the airport has increased significantly.

The airlines that serve the Doha International Airport are Air Arabia (Sharjah), Air India, Air India Express (Kochi, Mangalore, Kozhikode, Trivandrum, and Mumbai), Indian Airlines (Bahrain, Kochi, and Calicut), Biman Bangladesh Airlines (Chittagong, Dubai, Dhaka, Sylhet), British Airways (Bahrain and London), EgyptAir (Cairo and Alexandria), Emirates (Dubai) and Etihad Airways (Abu Dhabi). The airport also operates flights via the airlines Gulf Air, Iran Air, Iran Aseman Airlines, Jet Airways, KLM Kuwait Airways, LufthansaOman Air, Pakistan International Airlines, Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian.

The airport is also served by the airlines like Saudi Arabian Airlines, Shaheen Air International, Srilankan Airlines, Sudan Airways, Syrian Arab Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Yemenia. The construction work for the New Doha International airport began in the year 2004 and with the first two phases scheduled to complete by 2009, the third and final phase are expected to open by 2015.
