The Sun Air was a regional airline of Fiji that had a humble beginning in 1980. Later it was bought over by the international airline of Fiji, Air Pacific. Sun Air was a family owned domestic airline that had a humble beginning in 1980. Started by a pilot turned businessman-Don Collingwood the Fiji airlines soon reached new heights in terms of progress. The Nadi-Taveuni route was the inaugural route of this airline. The Nadi International airport was the main base of Sun Air. The year 2006 dawned with new hope for this airline on Fiji when it merged with the international airline of Fiji- Air Pacific. The Airline came to be known as Sun Pacific airline. The combination is names is not the only thing that bears evidence of the merger. The logo and flight colors are also evidences of this merger. The logo of Sun Air compliments the red, yellow and dark blue colors of Air Pacific.
