Aloha Airlines is one of the major airlines working to and from the Hawaii islands, with the Honolulu International Airport being the base of the airlines. Besides the latter, there are also two more focus cities, namely, John Wayne Airport in Orange County and Kahului Airport in Maui Island. As a national American airlines, the Aloha works both across the states, as well manages certain inter-island flights within the Hawaiian islands. What began in 1946 as Trans-Pacific Airlines by Ruddy Tongg, has come a long way to become one of the best American airlines in the country today. Despite the stiff competition from the then existing Inter-Island Airlines, it was only in 1951 that the airlines first got the permit to begin their own scheduled flights. During this year, the name changed to Hawaiian Airlines. It was not before 1952 that the airlines earned its first profit. The focus of the company during this time was to offer to as much customer satisfaction as was possible. In the process, it tried to leverage as much was possible from the tourism industry in the islands, which was still in a fledgling stage.
| In 1958, that the airlines company assumed its current title, Aloha Airlines. The trans pacific jet service, introduced in 1959, gave a new boost to the airlines company. In another ten year, the airlines became the leader in the aviation industry and the inter-island cargo system. It was in February 2000 that the Aloha took its first trans-pacific flight to Oakland in San Francisco Bay Area. Las Vegas and Orange County were also added to the still-growing list of long distance flights. Since then, the airlines has been growing continuously.

The Aloha Airlines has been recognized as the best airlines for on-time performance and baggage delivery, ranking fifth as the best airlines of United States for the year 2007. The in-flight magazine “Spirit of Aloha” has been awarded Hawaii's Best Visitor Publication. It has ranked fifth in the best Domestic airlines by Travel + Leisure 2007.
Aloha Airlines offers services to destinations in the states of California, Hawaii and Nevada. Some of the city destinations include Oakland, San Diego, Sacramento, Santa Ana, Honolulu, Kona, Lihue, Hilo, Kahului, Las Vegas and Reno, among others. The aircrafts used by Aloha Airlines are Boeing 737-700 series and Boeing 737-200 series. The airlines is also known for its bright and cheery aircraft painting, offering an unique character to each model. At the same time, each is given a Hawaiian name, with particular meaning.
