Compañía Mexicana de Aviación is commonly known as Mexicana. This is the second largest international airline in Mexico. This is based in the Mexico City. Mexicana operates domestic services as well as international services to North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America. The main base is Mexico City International Airport and the secondary hubs are located at Cancún International Airport and Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport, Guadalajara. The main competitor is Aeroméxico but the two companies formerly "code-shared" on several routes and were merged for more than a decade. This is also the world's fourth oldest airline after the Netherland's KLM, Colombia's Avianca, and Australia's Qantas.
Mexicana has tried various techniques so that they can cut out on costs. In order to cut costs, Mexicana introduced a new livery during the second half of 2005. This livery consists of the old fuselage colors but the new colors and design for the tail fin and engines. The tail is now dark blue with the company's eagle logo outlined and cut-off in white. The engine cowlings are of the same colors and features the company's website as well. Some of the subsidiaries of the Mexicana includes Click Mexicana and MRO Services whereas some of the Former subsidiaries include Aerocaribe, Mexicana Cargo and Aeromonterrey.
| The services offered by Mexicana includes both economy and business class service on all of its flights. The Business Class is also known as Clase Ejecutiva and has a new look that includes PTVs and wider seats. Mexicana also provides open bar service as well as warm meals on all flights lasting more than one hour. All of Mexicana's Aircraft do have Audio systems being installed in all its aircraft. Mexicana has announced that it intends to open new routes to the United States to Seattle, Ontario, Detroit, Charlotte as well as Puerto Rico. It is also negotiating with the Arkansas officials to serve Little Rock as well.
