The idea of opening an airline was first thought by two Kuwaiti businessmen in the year 1953. On the next year the Kuwait Airways was established. Kuwait Airways starts its operation on March 16 1954.
This airline is the first airline run by ab Arab state in the gulf region. At the very onset its name was Kuwait National Airways. The airline took its new name in the year 1958. Since then this airline is known as Kuwait Airways. From the very beginning Kuwait Airways took the path of modernizing its fleet. The CEO of the Kuwait Airways told the media that the airway will find difficulty in upgrading its services if it do not take the path of privatization. He also reveled that presently the airline is facing major difficulties in the sector like fleet renewal.
