Lithuania or the Republic of Lithuania is one leading countries in the northern part of Europe. | The Kaunas International Airport serves primarily the city of Kaunas in Lithuania and is the second civil airport in the country after the Vilnius International Airport in terms of the number of passengers it serves. Positioned within 15 kilometers of the city centre, the Kaunas International Airport operates mostly cargo and passenger flights. Ryanair is the primary airline that operates its flights to and from Frankfurt, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Shanon. Sited within 7 kilometers of the capital city of Vilnius in its south, the Vilnius International Airport happens to be the biggest civil airport of Lithuania.

Vilnius Airport began operating its flights in 1944 and the old terminal was formed in 1954. Founded in 1991 by the Ministry of Transportation of Lithuania, the Vilnius International Airport is presently owned by a state. Air Baltic flew the maximum number of passengers from this airport in the 2006 and next to it was flyLal or the Lithuanian Airlines. This airport also serves the flights operated by Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Austrian Airlines, Czech Airlines, Finnair and SAS.
