TAT is the synonym of Touraine Air Transport is a former French regional airline based in Tours. This private airline of France was set up in the year 1968 as a result of amalgamation between Rousseau Aviation and Taxi Avia France. Air France gained a small share of the airline in the year 1989. It was between the year 1993 and 1996 the management of the company was under British Airways. After a certain time the airlines automatically merged with Air Liberte, another local airline of France. TAT France has some share of both domestic and international share of civilian traffic of France.
France is the most dominant force in the Western Europe. Every year there has been good turnout of tourist’s traffic to the places of interest to France. Both business and leisure traveler visits France. That is why the need of airlines is very much necessary. Though Air France carries the maximum traffic still situation warrants such that there are no space in the airline which can be accommodated to any traveler. Idea about Touraine Air Transport:
It was during the decade of seventies and eighties Touraine Air Transport built up a vast network of regional, domestic and international routes. Around those time the bulk of the domestic routes were operated in collaboration with Air Inter which was at that time not only the domestic airline in France but also over Europe. Anyhow the international routes were operated in collaboration with Air France.

During the decade of late seventies and the beginning of the eighties TAT operated upon a route connecting Germany which links Saarbrucken to Berlin Tegel. It was during the year 1976, the airline started express delivery services in the year 1976. This service still exists even today. It was during the year decade of the eighties TAT purchased some of its rivals like Air Alpes and Air Alsace. Due to the acquisition TAT earned acclaim as the biggest regional airline as also the biggest partner of Air France.
Gradually with the passing of time TAT started becoming popular not only in the national segment but also in the international segment to a greater segment. Again in the year 1993, British Airways purchased some share of TAT to put the airlines more dominant in the international segment.
