Virgin Express was an airline of Virgin group of Belgium. It operated flights not only on the domestic destinations of Belgium but also outside the country. The airlines operated flights mostly to the destinations located in the Southern Europe. The airline got merged with SN Airlines of Belgium prior to the closure and thus formed Brussels Airlines. Virgin Express Belgium operated flights to various destinations located around the globe.

Virgin Express was established in the year 1966 on April 23. There was a time when the chairman of Virgin Group US Richard Branson purchased a Belgian Leisure airline EBA (Euro Belgian Airlines) and renamed the group as Virgin Express. Virgin Group of US purchased some of EBA’s fleet of Boeing 737. Gradually this airline started expanding long destinations and gained some market share.

During the time of operation the airlines operated the airlines with 5 Boeing 737-300 and 5 Boeing 737-300. Three aircrafts of Virgin Express were fitted with winglets and colored in traditional Brussels Airlines.

Code sharing and commercial arrangements with other airlines helped it to enhance revenues and make effective use of the available opportunities. With Belgium emerging as a prominent aviation hub of the region, Virgin Express along with other airline companies made good use of the available opportunities and flourished for a certain period of time too.
