El Salvador

El Salvador is a Central American country that is bordered by the Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras. The country has a total population of about 5.8 million people. From the tourism aspect the state of El Salvador is very rich and the only airport that serves the international flight in the country is the Comalapa International Airport. The Comalapa International Airport is located in Comalapa, about 30 minutes southeast of the capital. The actual name of the airport is Cuscatlán International Airport. The airport was built in the late 1970s replacing the previous airport the Ilopango International Airport.

All these airlines serve El Salvador cities as well as other cities and countries. The fleet of cargo airlines include American Airlines, Amerijet, ABX Air, Arrow Air, Continental Airlines, Copa Airlines Cargo, DHL, FEDEX, Florida West International Airways, Grupo TACA, UPS Air Cargo, United Airlines and several others.

The El Salvador airport has most of the modern facilities including the duty free shops, 24hrs restaurant, bars, air conditioned areas, tourist facilities, car rental, clean bathrooms, and spacious waiting rooms. The airport is large and has space for 17 airplanes on the main terminal, 3 on the cargo terminal, 5 in Aeroman, and around 20 in the "Long Term Parking".

More than 94.5% of the airport's flights are on time. Although the airport is closely located to the Pacific Ocean still the storms and hurricanes are not frequent.

Since the airport is situated in the outskirts it is all surrounded by the greenery and has a lot of space to expand. The airport is all filled with most of the modern facilities and has proper places for air servicing other things. In the beginning days of 2007, the government of El Salvador made an agreement with the government of France to study the facilities of the airport.
