The Gorkha Airlines is an airline that is based in the city of Kathmandu in the country of Nepal. One of the things about Gorkha Airlines is that it operates a network of scheduled flights as well as charter flights. The Gorkha Airlines operates flights to various domestic destinations. Apart from operating flights to the domestic destinations the Gorkha airlines also operates flights to the mountains in the Himalayas on a daily basis. The main base from where the Gorkha Airlines operates its network of flights in Nepal is from the Pokhara Airport but it also has a hub in the Tribhuvan International Airport which is also located in Kathmandu.
The Gorkha Airlines was founded in the year 1996. The flight operations triggered off from 8 July 1996. The first flight operations with the Gorkha Airlines were with two helicopters.
Then it moved on to the operations of the scheduled flights making use of the fixed-wing aircraft. The Gorkha Airlines conducted flight services to many domestic destinations within the country of Nepal. As of November 2006, the Gorkha Airlines has been operating flights to Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Bharatpur, Janakpur, Kathmandu, Lukla, Jomsom, Pokhara, Tumlingtar and Simara.
Even though there have been no such reports of mishaps or accidents in the aircrafts of this company but there was only one prominent one that can be mentioned.

On 30 June in the year 2005, the aircraft Dornier Do 228 (9N-AEO) aircraft which was coming from Kathmandu was attempting to land on the Lukla Airport when its wheels skidded off on the runway of the airport.
No major injuries were reported whoever were there on board. There were a total of 9 passengers on board and there were three crew members. After the accident the aircraft was written off completely and barred from further use.
There are two aircrafts that are included in the fleet of the Gorkha Airlines. These include the Dornier 228-100 and Dornier 228-212. The airlines started off their first flight in the year 1996. Later the company made a lot of efforts in diversifying into the sectors of the commercial scheduled flights. The airlines promises a satisfying flight journey with their team of veteran pilots and engineers and with their German made Donier aircrafts which are manufactured using the most advanced technology.
