Azerbaijan Airlines, which is also known as Azerbaijan Hava Yollari was established on April 7, 1992 and it started operating on the same day. The airline was formed from the regional wing of Areoflot and within a few days of commencing operation, Azerbaijan Airlines expanded its service outside Soviet Union. At present, Azerbaijan Airlines also owns a subsidiary named Azal Avia Cargo, which focuses mainly on cargo operations. At present Azerbaijan Airlines is operating scheduled flights to several places like Aktau, Ankara, Antalya, Kabul, Kiev, Milan, London, Minsk, Istanbul, Turkey, Paris, Tehran, Tel-Aviv and many other places.
