The destination of Seychelles is known as the Republic of Seychelles officially and is an archipelago comprising of 155 islands located on the Indian Ocean. It’s located some 1500 km to the east of mainland Africa, and to its northeast lies the Madagascar Island. The other island countries near to this tourist destination are Zanzibar, Mauritius, Comoros and Mayotte including Suvadives. This country is known to have the smallest population among the sovereignties of Africa. Among the islands of Seychelles 41 comprise of old mid oceanic granite islands and the remaining 74 feature the coral atolls and reefs also known as the outer islands. The granitic islands tend to cluster around the island of Mahe which houses the international airport and the capital, Victoria including the satellites of Praslin and La Digue. These islands are known to attract the chunk of the tourists and hence promote a greater part of tourism in Seychelles.
| The island nation of Seychelles traces its origin from its settlement dating back to 1770 as the French settled in these islands for the first time and until 1814 these islands went under French dominion. The most important attribute that is known to be associated with this part of the world and something that has also been substantially responsible for boosting up the tourism concerned with Seychelles happens to be the fact that it is known for being the home to a large number of rare species of flora and fauna.
The Jellyfish tree and the Coco-de-mer, the largest seed of the world can be found only here in Seychelles. Aldabra, a site that has had the acclaim of being world heritage by none other than the United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization or the UNESCO also happens to be here in Seychelles. Keeping all this in mind, we are more than justified in saying that if you are on the lookout for a tourist destination that will impart substantial amount of pleasure to your eyes then Seychelles is the choice.
